| Here's an idea that I would love to set into motion, and if/when it is set into motion, is going to be just as obligatory as recruit sessions.
At any given night we collect a team of 6-8 Columnists. We advertise our team on Help, or more likely the new AE channel that is coming. People will request we run their arcs and we rate based on your own personal opinion of the arc. Great way to get a name going, and having your arc run is simply desired, we will fulfill that desire.
I.E., Thursday Night at 7. Team of 6 Sixth Columnists. Leader announces "The Sixth Column is running a team that will test YOUR arc! First come first serve to get your AE mission tested by six people, all voting and rating on their own personal oppinion. PST me with your arc #, and remember first come first serve!"
But of course, not that bad.

| I read that as "Leiter announces,..." and I was confused.
I think this could be fun... I mean, I'd like to get some MA teams together just in general, so a 6C team would be fun.
I think, though, it might be better to just announce something like, "Anyone want their arc tested? My supergroup's got a team together that's happy to run a few arcs for you, and we've got a couple spaces for more people to join as well. PST!"
Then, if we do it regularly, we'll get into the habit of running a few arcs, meeting a couple new people, and gradually people will get to know us. Broadcasting ourselves as 'THE SIXTH COLUMN' sounds kind of cocky, like everyone SHOULD know who we are by now, look at us we're so cool.

| And when I said "But of course, not that bad" I really meant, "Hey Leiter, come say what I actually meant."
Update: City of Heroes, Villains, and and in betweens has released a new patch today with a new AE channel, that is what we'll use.

| The only problem with this would be finding enough columnists. In my mind we would have possibly 4 at most. I would be up for this. But during the summer I sometimes stay over at friends' houses as well as over-nights at my camp. Over-Nights are on thursdays. I usually don't stay over at my friends on thursdays but that is still the possibility. Luckily I only have 3 over-nights at camp for the whole summer. So other than that I should be able to attend this. | |

| Karnie has a valid point. My membership is expired, and even if it wasn't, our second computer is rarely unoccupied. Aside from that, we have significantly varied time zones and schedules, so we'd probably have to get on after midnight on the eastern seaboard, which is anything but convenient or practical.
The easy solution is to recruit moar. And really get them into it. It's not fun being a soldat, having to wear the drab uniform and gawking at the offizier's snappy outfits. And most people are none too thrilled with the fact that they need to make a new alt. Sure, the recruit/mercenary/trial/whatthefuckever system is cool, but when was the last time we saw it in use?
Speaking from personal experience, back when I was a soldat, I wanted to get up to an officer rank solely because I like making my toons look badass, even if they suck (my corr is a prime example) and the old officer uniform was pretty high in the badass charts. Maybe it was motivation for me, but my fellow BT-graduates left the group long before I did, because I think their mindset was slightly different. I think they viewed the rank system as oppressive, putting a lot of emphasis on officer respect, and the soldats were, well, expendable really. A new one could come along any day.
But that's not the case now, is it? Hell, what do I know.

| Great idea, but I have a better one. Find six Columnists first and if you refer me to the recruiting guide you know you'll regret it! | |
